Are You a Creator or a Reactor?

Our success at pushing through any difficulty is a function of our mindset.

"For as he thinks in his heart so is he ..." (Proverbs 23:7).

God created us to be creative. He created us in His image. Many people believe that only certain people are given the gift of creativity. I do not believe this.

God created His people to look at every day with vision. The Spirit of God which dwells within us helps us to see the possibilities in everything. As we look at the people we lead, we see what God is doing and will do with them.

Creative people see opportunities and possibilities. The way forward is through whatever the impediment seems to be. Creative people find a way without murmuring or complaining. The faith of a creative leader is strong.

The reactor needs our prayers. A reactive person usually informs the creative type of all the reasons why something cannot be done. The reactor looks back often. He wants to make sure he still has his baggage with him.

A reactor is pessimistic. He has little hope that today will be any better than yesterday. In fact, if the day begins to go well, the reactor will sabotage the day with a wheelbarrow full of negative attitudes.

The thought life of a reactor is a procession of a cankerous flow of worry and blaming.  The reactor is the victim in many daily dramas. The reactor expects to lose.

It's hard to imagine a Christian can live life as a reactor.  Jesus said, "My grace is sufficient for you." Isn't that enough?

Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

Creativity is fed by living water.

Today's Scripture

"But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me" (2 Cor. 12:9).
