Leadership

Every day a leader wakes up is a day people are looking to them for answers.

Sometimes those answers don't come easily. Sometimes those answers can't come from anything but a supernatural breakthrough. When we remain anchored within the limitations of what we see, hear and perceive with our natural senses, we fall short of everything God has made available to us.

The good news is that the Bible clearly teaches that it is normal for God to break into the created world with miracles, signs and wonders. Genesis 1:1-3 says: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water. God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."

You see, in the beginning there was a supernatural God who brought forth a natural world through His mighty power. But He didn't stop there. He immediately began interacting with and changing the world (performing miracles) according to His design, and He didn't stop until He was pleased with His final product.

When we are positioned for God to intervene, it usually occurs because the situation we find ourselves in is not God's idea of what our lives should look like.

We pray for healing because someone is sick.

We pray for financial breakthrough because someone is in a bind and doesn't have sufficient resources to meet their obligations and supply for their needs.

We pray for God to intervene when the situation is outside of the will of God, when attendance is down at church or the offerings simply aren't enough to make the congregation's monthly obligations.

But it is often those hard situations that fight against the faith that God will intervene. It is harder to believe for healing when you are sick. It is harder to believe God can stop a tornado when you are in the path of that tornado. But in those very situations, God desires to break in and reveal Himself.

He really does.

The presence of your trial does not invalidate what God wants to do in you and through you.

As leaders, it is imperative that we dig down into that place of faith and lay hold of what God is calling us to in that moment. By agreeing with heaven and refusing to give in to the circumstances surrounding us, we are positioning ourselves to see God move upon our natural circumstances with His supernatural power.

Take heart. We serve a really powerful God, and He's been doing miracles since the beginning.
