Our emotions are compelling, dynamic determinants in our lives, and as Spirit-filled women, we need to determine how to control their power. We also need to consider the scope of our emotions and then govern their consequences. This is no easy task and just may take a lifetime to master. It's all a wonderful part of life this side of heaven!

I do not believe that God intended for women to live a roller coaster life, ordered by the fluctuation of some hormone over which they exert absolutely no control. God's plan has always been that you would decrease and that He would increase. God has an answer for every emotional outrage to which you feel entitled. It's called fruit, and let me assure you that it is absolutely delicious! You must give up your right to whine and pout and then wholeheartedly embrace the plan of God for your life, which is found in the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

If your most passionate desire is to be a grand display of the fruit of the Spirit and the personality of God, the price that you must pay is to crucify the flesh and to discipline your emotions. If you are able to cooperate with God in this difficult endeavor, you will be positioning yourself for availability in carrying out God's significant plan at this time in history.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them" (Eph. 2:10).

Although you belong to God because He created you and pre-designed an incredible life for you, He has still placed the choice for that miraculous life in your hands. One of the most practical instances of where we choose God or choose self is in our emotional preferences and habits. We were created to do His good works, but instead, we have decided to morph into an emotional counterfeit of who He intended for us to be. You will never become all that God intended for you to become until you receive His power.

Jesus knew that we would not be able to live an abundant life on planet earth without the power of the Holy Spirit, so He provided that exact power. Christian women who are filled with the incredible Holy Spirit should never use their background or other influences as an excuse for emotions gone wild. As it says in Galatians 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Rather than allowing your emotions to reign, you must choose to feed your spirit healthy nutrients that will keep it strong and robust. Reading your Bible on a regular basis is chief among the habits that you need to establish spiritually in order to be a healthy and vibrant woman emotionally. Another way to make sure that your spirit is growing into the most robust part of your inner man is to take the advice of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and pray without ceasing. I did not say whine without ceasing ... I said pray without ceasing.

So many Christian women spend their whole lives whining and complaining to the Lord, and then they wonder why their prayers are never answered! When you pray, pray with joy! When you pray, come into His presence boldly and pray with power! When you pray, leave your emotional soul at the door and take your well-fed spirit into the throne room and bask in His wonderful presence! When I wait and pray, He becomes Lord of my emotions and of my thought life. The healing that takes place in a human soul while the body is in a position of prayer is eternal and miraculous.

The astounding news is that when you tap into the wisdom of the Word of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and transformative prayer, you are guaranteed to win whatever battle you might be facing. God really does have a plan for your daily life and His plan is one of joy, peace and victory. God desperately needs you to conquer your emotional issues because you are an important part of His grander plan at this historical juncture. I'm in. ... How about you?
